BEIJING, April 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Nicolas Cage was arrested in New Orleans on charges of domestic violence, disturbing the peace, and public drunkenness, media reported on Sunday.
According to a police report, the actor was seen having heated argument with his wife Alice Kim on a street in the French Quarter.
During the couple's fight, a New Orleans Police Dept. spokesman said, Cage allegedly grabbed Kim by the upper arm and pulled her toward the house that he insisted -- and she disagreed -- was their rental.
He then started hitting parked cars on the street and tried to enter a cab.
Witnesses flagged police officers who "immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated, and ordered him out of the cab, which prompted Cage to start yelling," the spokesman said.
He noted that Cage's wife had no apparent injuries.
The 47-year old "Drive Angry 3D" star posted 11,000-U.S.-dollar bond and was released.
Cage won an Oscar for his portrayal of a suicidal alcoholic in the 1995 film "Leaving Las Vegas."
Alice Kim Cage is the actor's third wife and they have one child together. His ex-wives are actress Patricia Arquette, and Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of the late Elvis Presley.
